STS

Société de Transformation de Styrène

Acquired by the Ocedis Group in 2021, STS (Société de Transformation de Styrène) was founded in 1969 and has been La Maison de la Piscine's exclusive supplier of Styropor swimline floats for over 20 years.

STS uses the process patented by Robert Loison in 1969 to manufacture high-density expanded polystyrene objects.

Making objects out of

High-density expanded polystyrene

STS is a leader in the manufacture of styrene objects using a patented process.

We use expandable polystyrene in the manufacture of our products.

This use is in line with our core values: quality and ecology.

Also known as Styropor, expandable polystyrene is used for insulation, packaging, food, etc...

But that's not all! Styrene objects for industry, the army, professional fishing, sports equipment, decoration, sanitary equipment and advertising.

Expandable polystyrene

What is it?

Expandable polystyrene is made up of a multitude of very fine polystyrene beads.

By simply injecting steam or immersing it in boiling water (the method used by STS), the polystyrene expands to 50 times its initial volume.

It will then transform into expanded polystyrene.

Its low density, insensitivity to water and technical properties (shock absorption and compressive strength) make it a high-quality, extremely reliable product.

Environmentally-friendly

As far as the environment is concerned, expanded polystyrene is not a pollutant. In fact, EPS products can be 100% recycled, either by crushing and reintegrating them into new parts, or by compacting them to make new raw material.

So you can recycle the material once you've finished using it.
